Private Farmhouse
A farmhouse asks for a different kind of light. Low ceilings, thick walls, deep window reveals: the rooms hold the dark as well as the day. We arrived after the stone and the lime plaster had settled, and worked only with what the house would accept.
In the long hall we hung the Pleat Chandelier low over the table. Its hand-pleated fibreglass shade fringes a single warm LED into soft bands, and the shadow it throws shifts when a door opens. That movement is the point. A fixed pool of light would have flattened the room.
Light that keeps the shape of the room
In the kitchen, Pleat 70 sits close to the ceiling and washes indirect light across the plaster. The white outer surface stays quiet against the lime, while the leaf-lined interior warms the beam after sunset. In the stairwell, three shades on one brass rod — the Pleat 65 / 66 / 67 — fold the light into long ribbed shadows down the wall. Nothing here competes with the architecture.
We finished in 2024, before winter. On the last visit we switched the lamps on one room at a time and left the doors open. The stone stayed the stone. The light did the rest.
