Loft Apartment
A loft in Sofia, under a roof that had been shut for years. The brief arrived in three lines: keep the volume, keep the brick, and let light settle the rest. We took the shell as we found it — steel beams left bare, tall windows on one side only, a stair that folds the room in two.
Light as the second architecture
Across the upper level the Golden Lights discs sit close to the ceiling. Each one is lined by hand with leaf, so the plaster takes the warmth and the fixture stays quiet. Below, the PostCrissi pendants hang low over the long table, their pleated shades fringing shadow onto brick. Direct light where people work. Soft, sideways light where they rest. The wall keeps changing as the evening goes.
Two heights, two temperatures, one continuous space. No corner is over-lit, and none is lost. The discs dim to a glow; the pendants hold their pool on the table and go no further.
A loft asks for few things. We gave it a handful of warm points and left the dark where it belonged.
