Nacre
Nacre hangs low and keeps its light to itself. The shade is a shallow cup of aluminium, closed at the crown and open at the rim, so everything it holds goes straight down — onto the table, the counter, the hands of the people gathered there. Above the lamp the ceiling stays in shadow. Below it, a slow pool of gold.
A surface that behaves like shell
We finish each shade by hand, in copper, gold or silver, and leave the metal faintly uneven. Light that meets an imperfect surface hesitates before it leaves, and that hesitation is what makes the glow under Nacre read as warmth rather than brightness. It is the same trick the inside of a shell plays on the eye.
Three versions sit in the family: a single COB source, one silver-crown E27 bulb, or a cluster of three — all at 2700K, and the bulb versions dim on a triac circuit. Direct light, honestly delivered. Nothing spills upward. That is the whole idea.
