The Hours It Takes
A short film about our founder’s way of seeing. It was made in the working space where every lamp of ours begins: drawn first, then built by hand. The footage dates from 2014.
The film follows hours. A pencil crosses a sheet of paper. A hand turns a piece of metal until the light settles on it the way it should. Nothing moves fast here, and it cannot, because speed changes what the eye is able to hold.
No one speaks over the pictures. The bench, the tools, the paper and the slow work of hands carry the film on their own. What stays with you afterwards is how long it takes to see something clearly enough to make it.
