This film began as an exercise. We decided to shoot only the hands of the people who make our lamps. No faces, no voices. Just hands, and the work passing through them.

Watching it back, a light came through that we had not planned. It seemed to sit in the hands themselves, and in everything those hands make. A thumb runs along a rim. A piece is turned over once before it is set down. Nothing in the frame was asked to mean anything, and still something did.

The film was shot in 2022. We watch it now and then, when we want to see the work close up.
