Stella 09
Light folded inward
We keep the source out of sight. In Stella 09 the light travels into the body first, meets a deliberately irregular interior, and comes back to you as diffuse warmth rather than a beam. What you see is the object itself glowing from within, a quiet volume of light standing in the room. Indirect emission is patient work: it changes how a space feels long before it changes how bright it is.
The structure is iron, waxed and left rough where the hand meets it. Inside, that uneven surface is lined with metal leaf — gold, silver or copper — laid by hand so every fold follows the irregularity instead of smoothing it away. Each crease becomes another facet, and the reflections multiply until the interior holds more light than the sources alone could ever give. Spoon-shaped steel holders carry the LED boards, and a removable candle holder lets a real flame join them on evenings that ask for something slower.
A dimmer sits on the cable and remembers the last level you chose, so the lamp wakes exactly where you left it. Rough iron outside, leaf within. The glow does the rest.
