Stella 02
Stella 02 begins with an absence. We take the light source out of the object and leave only a shallow hemisphere, hanging from a slender black base with its steel holder tucked out of sight. A low-voltage LED board glows quietly behind the rim. The lamp never shows itself; only its light does.
The inner face is deliberately imperfect — worked into soft, irregular hollows, then lined with gold, silver or copper leaf. Every dent receives the hidden beam and returns it multiplied, until the whole disc reads as one calm glow, like a moon kept indoors. The smaller sizes are spun in aluminium; at Ø 100 cm we form the hemisphere in fibreglass, so the large disc stays light on its cable.
Hand-laid leaf
Each hemisphere is lined by hand, one sheet of leaf at a time; no two interiors are ever quite alike. Outside, the shell stays matt black and quiet, keeping all the warmth within. A small moon, made slowly.
