In Stella 01 we hide the light source entirely. A single LED board rests within a black hemisphere, and what reaches the room is only its return: a soft, indirect glow poured across the inner surface of the shell. The light behaves less like a beam than a slow tide, filling the space without ever showing where it begins.

A surface made by hand

The inside of the hemisphere is deliberately irregular. We line it with gold, silver or copper leaf, laid by hand so that every fold and hollow catches the light in its own way. Reflections multiply across the uneven metal until the whole object seems to glow from within — a small moon cradled in a matte black bowl.

Outside, the shell stays quiet and dark, a calm counterpoint to the shimmer inside. Each one is finished singly in our workshop, so no two lamps carry quite the same moon. Light is our material; form is only the vessel.
