Sketch 9 12
We set out to draw the simplest of forms: a circle, and nothing more. Sketch 9 12 is a ring of light held in mid-air — thin enough to disappear into a room, steady enough to give it a centre. The emission is direct and warm: a quiet halo that reads first as geometry, and only then as a lamp.
Hand-painted, deliberately imperfect
Each ring is copper, painted by hand in a deep blue, so no two circles trace quite the same line. A black iron element anchors the composition on the floor, and blue cords carry the current down to a plug driver and dimmer — the ceiling stays clear. In 2024 the piece earned an honourable mention at the MANIBUS International Award for Contemporary Craftsmanship.
Almost no matter. All light.
