Presto! Plug Diver is a ring of brass hung from a single steel cable, with a black iron anvil as its counterweight. The LED module sits inside the circle and sends its light straight down, so the ring stays dark and thin against the ceiling while everything below it gets the light. Two diameters, 50 and 85 centimetres; the larger carries twice the modules, and the pool of light widens with it.

A dimmer in the plug

The cable runs to a plug driver instead of into the ceiling, and the dimmer lives in that plug. So we can hang this lamp wherever there is a socket: over a workbench, beside a bed, in a room we are not permitted to open up. Blue wire, black details, brass that darkens where hands have held it. Each ring is bent, welded and finished by hand in our workshop, and the anvil stays plain black iron, unpainted and heavy on purpose.

A circle, a weight, a cord. Light goes down; the form keeps quiet.
