Shadow, held at the edge

We pleat the shade by hand, fold after fold, until the fibreglass keeps a memory of the gesture. Light enters from behind and meets those folds: it slows, thickens, then escapes at the fringed rim. What reaches the wall is no longer a beam but a drawing, soft at the centre, ragged and alive along the edge.

The bracket is nickel-plated metal, quiet and precise, so the shade is free to speak. Fibreglass takes pigment well, which is why we offer it natural, white, gold or silver; each finish shifts the temperature of the shadow a little. Pleat comes in 21 cm and 40 cm, alone beside a mirror or paired down a long corridor. Light, we think, is mostly a question of edges.
