Par 16 JC IC
Par 16 JC IC hangs from the ceiling on a slender black cable, a sphere of clear glass that is anything but smooth. We blow each shade freehand, and the surface closes with a field of shallow dimples, as though the glass had been pressed by thumbs while still warm. Light meets that uneven skin and breaks apart — gathering in the hollows, thinning along the ridges, scattering into a hundred small glows.
Two ways into the ceiling
Mod. JC returns to a nickel jack that all but disappears once fitted; mod. IC uses a recessed steel plate with a cable fastener, made for plasterboard. Either way the sphere floats, held by almost nothing. Inside sits one low-wattage LED board, warm at 2700K and small enough to vanish, so the glass does the visible work. The emission stays indirect: a soft body of light in the room, never a hard cone on the table below.
No two spheres come out alike. We keep it that way.
