The accuracy of a single gesture

Lumen T1 begins where a line begins — with one exact movement of the hand. A warm disc of colour floats above a slender rod, and at its heart an ultra-flat LED module keeps the silhouette impossibly thin. Light falls straight down onto the table, direct and unhurried, while the soft lacquered face of the disc glows with borrowed warmth.

Every disc is finished by hand in our workshop: black or white lacquer, brushed satin, or leaves of gold and copper laid one by one until the surface catches the light like still water. The rod and weighted metal base are made to disappear beneath the disc they carry, and a dimmer rests on the cord, so the evening can be adjusted slowly.
