Lumen Sail CWS1
A line drawn in light
Lumen Sail CWS1 begins with a single gesture — the steady hand that pulls one continuous line across a sheet. We keep that line thin. An ultra-flat LED module sits behind a softly coloured disc, so the lamp reads as a shallow curve resting close to the plane it is mounted on, ceiling or wall alike. The source stays hidden. Light leaves from the rim, spreads across the surface behind it, and returns to the room as warmth, without glare.
The shade and disc are formed from aluminium, then finished one piece at a time in our workshop. Black takes gold leaf or copper leaf; white pairs a varnished white disc with a satin rod capped in gold. Every leaf is laid and burnished by hand, so the metal keeps a faint unevenness that only appears once the lamp is lit. A slim metal rod and a matching base carry the disc clear of the surface — enough depth for the light to travel, and no more.
A thin form. A quiet line of light. Nothing further to remove.
