A slender cable descends from the ceiling and carries a disc whose edge refuses to be a perfect circle. Inside, gold leaf catches a single point of light held in a curl of copper, and the glow spreads outward in soft, irregular waves.

Each disc is shaped and lined by hand in our workshop, so no two carry quite the same pattern of light. The shade is finished black and gold, the curl worked in copper, and the mounting is offered in two forms: a nickel ceiling jack for plasterboard, or a recessed steel plate with a tensioner. Suspend a few together and they settle into constellations of their own.

Gold asks for almost nothing. It only returns.
