We made For One to be given. It arrives folded and quiet: a small brass foot, a slender stem wrapped in blue fabric, a sheaf of rice-paper petals. The first gesture is yours — bend the stem the way a wildflower leans, toward a book, a face, the corner of a room at dusk. No two ever stand alike.

Light the colour of amber

Inside the petals a dedicated LED board runs at a deep amber temperature, nearer to candle than to lamp. Rice paper takes that light and lets it through slowly: edges blur, shadows keep their shape but lose their hardness. A push dimmer sits on the cord, so For One can be barely there or bright enough to read by. Quiet light, kept close.

We assemble every piece by hand. The base is turned brass, left warm instead of lacquered to a mirror. The stem is wrapped in fabric chosen for its grip as much as for its colour, and the petals are cut and set one at a time, made to be replaced — paper ages, and we would rather you keep a lamp for decades than keep it perfect. Give it away, or keep it. Either way, it stays.
