We draw the circle first. One continuous line, begun and finished in a single breath, then given depth so that the stroke can stand away from the wall. Eclipse W keeps the hesitation of the hand: the ring swells and thins along its path, the way ink does when the wrist slows to turn a corner.

The light stays hidden behind the inner edge. It spills around the circumference and returns to the wall as a soft halo, so the circle reads less as an object than as an event of light. Switched off, a quiet blue form; switched on, the same form holding a small sun. Darkness and glow, one shape.

The shade is aluminium, coated in blue by hand in irregular passes; the base carries the same colour. We mix and apply the pigment ourselves, thicker where the stroke gathers, thinner where it runs out. No two surfaces ever come out truly alike. The ring is its own record of the hand that made it.
